Nothing Lasts Forever

In August of 2023, Kukuk’s Nest, the final holdout among the wooden postwar mansions-turned cultural spaces along once-hayahay residential district of Gorordo avenue have been bought out and felled to make way for condos.

On any given friday, some twelve years before that day, this string of road was once electric: abuzz with watering holes such as Koa Tree House, the Outpost, Handuraw, and Kukuk’s, drawing crowds of artists and weirdos and the like, a period of time in which many myths were born.

This shirt was released in 2023 as a companion to the zine Nothing Last Forever at Cebu Art Book Fair 2.
